Senior Account Manager: for a UK based Telecommunications company with a European and US communications network based on fibre optic technology.

They are now looking for a Senior Account Manager who is an experienced, results-oriented team player to manage some of their tier 1 accounts and help drive their European/USA business growth strategy. The successful candidate will report to the Business Development Manager

Senior Account Manager Position:

The position to be filled is at the company’s main office near High Wycombe and is office based with regular travel within Europe and on occasion the United States. The successful candidate will also be expected to attend European industry events and meetings. One or two trips per month will be the norm.

The Senior Account Manager Role:

•Involve growing the business in their Tier 1 customers with a strong focus on maintaining and growing relationships within those accounts, usually at Senior Management level.
•Gain a detailed understanding of the customer’s requirement, prepare and present a proposal, negotiate and close the contract.
•Communicate the benefits of their products and constructively address any issues the customer may have. Training will be provided if required and on an on-going basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Account Manager:

•Manage relationship in a group of tier 1 accounts.
•Put strategies in place to maintain and grow revenue.
•Identify trends in services and price points and communicate effectively with management team.
•Regular reporting of sales pipeline.
•Opportunity and customer status reporting.
•Provide customer feedback and market/competitor information to Business Development manager and company directors.
•Attend events and customer visits when necessary.
Required Skills for the Senior Account Manager:

•The applicant should have at least 5 years sales experience, ideally within the Network industry.
•An understanding of Networking / Telecommunications is very desirable.
•The ability to communicate at technical and non-technical levels.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and able to work at engineering and CEO/Director level.

Desirable Skills for the Senior Account Manager:

•Current / recent experience selling connectivity solutions and colocation to Networks, ISPs, CDNs, Enterprise and Financial sector customers.
•Self-starter, highly enthusiastic, motivated, persistent and results oriented.
•Understands the importance of excellent customer service in the Networking Industry.
•Strong team player.
•A networker and active listener, able to elicit information from contacts.
•Excellent personal organization with strong prioritisation and time management skills.
•Happy to work in an informal environment.
•Willingness to work extended hours from time to time.
•A Levels or above, Technical Degree (BSc) preferred but not essential.
